• Step 1 – Secure an offer from a licensed education provider.
   
• Step 2 – Receive a CAS and prepare financial and identity evidence.
   
• Step 3 – Complete the online application, pay fees, and the immigration health surcharge.
   
• Step 4 – Upload documents, attend a biometric appointment, and await a decision.

Length of stay and rights

The visa length depends on the course. It usually covers the duration of study plus additional time. Holders may be able to work part-time during term and full-time in holidays, subject to conditions.

Common issues

Applications may be refused if funds are not properly evidenced, the CAS details are wrong, or documents do not meet the Home Office’s strict requirements.

Under the 2025 reforms, applicants must now show stronger financial documentation and meet updated language and compliance standards.
