Joining SO Legal Solicitors on our Paralegal to Trainee Scheme is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to develop a rewarding career in a fast-paced, modern legal environment.
Our Paralegal to Trainee Scheme – the opportunity
Paralegals make an important contribution to the work of our experienced fee-earning solicitors and lawyers. Working as a Paralegal at SO Legal, you’ll support our solicitors with a range of tasks including drafting and preparing legal documents, assisting the team with file management, typing, liaising with external providers for research purposes, taking client instructions and fee earning responsibilities after suitable training.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for ambitious and driven people who can bring an energy and fresh perspective to the team. The likely candidate should have good drafting skills, strong grasp of the English language and an understanding of client care. A willingness to learn and work with modern technology is essential and you should have great attention to detail.
What qualifications do you need?
To become a Paralegal on this scheme, you will need a Law Degree, ideally completed with a 2:1. Although not a necessity for a paralegal position, ideally you will have also needed to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and have had some experience of working in a law firm as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
How does the training work?
The paralegal stage is a fixed term 1 year contract with appropriate notice periods for both parties. Successful applicants will have the potential to get to a training contract which will run for two years. At SO Legal we have seats in Commercial Property and Development, Corporate / Commercial, Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Residential Property. You can read more about how training works through the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) here.
What will you earn?
Salary is dependent upon experience.
Is there an opportunity to stay as part of the SO Legal team?
Yes, we really value ‘growing our own’. Developing our Trainees to become part of our ongoing business model is an essential part of our strategy – to maintain continuous and consistent expert advice from people who are ingrained with the SO Legal ethos of excellent client care.
How do I apply?
Send your CV and a covering letter to email@example.com, quoting where you found us and citing any relevant experience and local connections.
