Insolvency and Employment Solicitor

We have an exciting new opportunity for a +4 years’ PQE solicitor who has experience and capability in both insolvency and employment law. Upon joining SO Legal you will become an integral part of our thriving Corporate and Commercial Team. Ideally you will have the experience of running your own matters and be able to bring in new clients, as well as supporting the team with their matters. You would be dealing with a mix of contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters across a range of clients, including companies, financial institutions, landlords, individual debtors and public bodies. Knowledge of employment law would also be an asset for this hybrid role.

The successful candidate will be hardworking, with a keen eye for detail and works well in a team and under pressure. The role requires good organisation and excellent written communication and will provide you with an opportunity to build your own practice.

Residential Property Manager (Solicitor) South East

We are looking for a Residential Property Manager to assist with the running of our very busy residential conveyancing team. We have conveyancers in five different offices and we need an experienced residential solicitor to manage the team. As well as taking on some of your own conveyancing matters, internally you will be in charge of training, file reviews, dealing with any client issues and the efficient running of the team. Externally, you will be responsible for managing relationships with agents, panels and introducers as well as business development and winning new clients.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and running their own caseload of residential conveyancing matters as well as having experience of managing a large team. You will need to have a good understanding of what is needed to manage a law firm, be commercially minded and a team player.

Commercial Property Secretary/PA – Eastbourne

We are looking for a Commercial Property Secretary/PA to support our expanding Commercial Property team. You will be based in our Eastbourne office and will need to have at least a couple of years of experience in a similar role within Commercial Property. Your responsibilities will include digital dictation, producing letters and legal documentation, scanning and copying documents when required, filing and electronic file management, billing, requesting searches and dealing with documentation for the Land Registry.

The successful candidate will be proficient with IT, a good team player and able to manage a workload supporting a number of fee earners. The role requires good organisational skills and being a team player.

Residential Conveyancer – Hastings

We are looking for an experienced residential conveyancer or residential property solicitor for our Hastings office. You will be able to run your own matters from start to finish and be able to manage a mixed caseload of freehold and leasehold transaction. It would also be beneficial if you already had links within the local residential property sector. You will need to be dynamic, motivated and self-reliant with good attention to detail and a commercial manner. We have a market-leading cloud-based CMS and you must be comfortable using modern legal technology.

This is a full-time role and an exciting opportunity as we seek to build up our Hastings office. Salary is available upon application, is based on experience and is competitive.

Residential Property Admin Assistant – Uckfield

We are expanding our Uckfield office due to an increased workload. We are looking for someone with prior legal experience and a residential property background. You don’t necessarily need to be CILEX accredited or a licensed conveyancer but you should be able to hit the ground running to support our residential conveyancing team. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, is motivated and who is reliable. You will be organised, have good attention to detail and be fully IT literate. If you have just finished your LPC then this role would be ideal for you.

This is a full time-role and salary is available upon application.

Receptionist – Brighton

We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing receptionist for a new office in central Brighton. We are one of the fastest-growing law firms in the South East, and we need someone to create a positive first impression to clients and visitors. Previous experience as a receptionist at a law firm would be preferable, but not essential.

You’ll need to enjoy interacting with lots of different people – answering and directing enquiries, coordinating meeting rooms, organising couriers, and performing admin tasks – as well as supporting the wider team to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently. You must have competent IT skills and be a good team player.

Residential Administrative Assistant/PA Role – Eastbourne

We are looking for someone to join our busy residential conveyancing department in a role that would both support the team as well as being a PA role to the Head of Department. You will need to have experience of residential property such as requesting searches, dealing with the Land Registry and forms as well as, ideally, having some PA experience. You will need to be a good team player, reliable, have attention to detail and be keen to learn. You will be given the opportunity to work in a busy department on a diverse range of interesting residential matters and you will also benefit from working directly with the Head of Department.

You will need to be fully IT literate as we utilise a market-leading cloud-based CMS as well as supporting the team with dictation, the phones and any other admin matters that might be required. This is a full-time role an the salary is available upon application, being based on experience but being competitive for the local market.
