Hemmat Ovaisi – Paralegal – has been at SO Legal since its inception in 2016. He graduated in July 2019 from the University of Sussex, where he was the President of the Iranian Society, and has since been with the firm on a full-time basis. His studies entailed a year at Arizona State University where he received a high first, undertaking modules such as International Trade Law, American Business Law and Maritime Law.
Since graduating Hemmat has built on his interest in Computer Science, completing online Harvard University accredited classes in Computer Science, Computer Science for Lawyers, and Blockchain and Fintech Risks.
He has experience at SO Legal as a Commercial Paralegal, a Corporate Paralegal, and a Residential Paralegal. He also has experience in Intellectual Property, spending two months as an intern at an International Law firm in Beijing.
Hemmat organises the monthly Eastbourne Professional Drinks, the annual Twelve Days of Food initiative and plays a key part in the bowling line-up during SO Legal’s annual cricket tournament held at the Sussex CCC ground.
